The main bulk dredging of the bund alignment was carried out using
Scorpio with a final sweeping of the area undertaken by Warraber
prior to placement of bund material by Henry Walker Eltin. Dredged
material was pumped up to a maximum distance of 2.3km to reclamation
ponds. The majority of the distance was achieved primarily using
the pump on Scorpio but the assistance of a 2800hp booster pump
(commissioned for this project) was required when dredging was undertaken
at outer pumping limits.
