Glenelg Safe Harbour

Changing Cutter Heads on "Kikilu".

This project required approximately 180,000 m3 of sand, calcrete, river gravel and clay to be dredged to provide a harbour for the new kangaroo island ferry. Three booster stations were required to push the clay and rock approximately four kilometres to the pit.

Hall Contracting commissioned a jaden high speed cutter wheel driven by its own powerful hydraulic power unit to excavate the limestone rock (calcrete).
