Mooloolaba Beach Geowall

#About this project

Hall Contracting was engaged by Sunshine Coast Council to undertake the extension of the Mooloolaba Beach Geowall. The project consisted of the installation of geotextile bags along the Eastern end of Mooloolaba Beach between Urunga Esplanade and the Mooloolaba Harbour wall.

The extension is a continuation of the existing geowall and includes the installation of approximately 550L/m of geotextile sand containers (1,608 bags in total) of varying sizes and heights, and the placement of approximately 6,700m² of geotextile. The installation of the bags and replacement of sand covering the new structure has reinforced and further protected existing vegetation along the fore dune area.
