Upgrading Brisbane Road to four lanes and constructing a new traffic bridge

Mooloolaba Transport Corridor Upgrade (MTCU)

#About this project

Following the successful extension of Naroo Court and widening of Walan Street in Mooloolaba in 2020, Sunshine Coast Council awarded Hall a further two stages of the Mooloolaba Transport Corridor Upgrade (MTCU) in 2021.

The package of works includes upgrading Brisbane Road to four lanes and constructing a new four-lane traffic bridge at Mayes Canal featuring shared pedestrian and cycle paths on both sides.

As part of the project, the team has carried out a range of service relocations, including installing new Telstra, Optus, and TPG conduits and nbn fibre optic cabling, as well as relocating water supply infrastructure.

Stages 2 and 3 of the MTCU project are scheduled for completion in late 2022.
