Removing mud and silts from ponds on the site of the future BLCP power station
Hall Contracting utilised dredges Everglade and Beenup to dredge mud and silts from two ponds on the site of the future BLCP power station in Map Ta Phut, Thailand.
The team pumped 766,000m³ of material from the first pond into a temporary holding pond to allow structural fill to be deposited. The holding pond was then dredged, with a total of 1,017,000m³ of material transferred to the final storage pond.
The team was required to dredge clean, smooth pond bases for structural fill to be placed upon and the nature of the material allowed for both dredges to operate efficiently.
