Dredging 500,000m³ from the approach channel for a popular tourist port
Port Denarau is the number one tourist port in Fiji and is the marine gateway for the outer islands and popular resorts.
Recognising the port’s importance to the local economy, the Fiji Government engaged Hall Contracting to deepen and widen the approach channel to give super yachts direct access to Denarau and the facilities it provides.
The team used cutter suction dredge Kikilu to dredge 500,000m³ from the approach channel. The project was successfully delivered on time and within budget.
